Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Birthday Jar of Flowers

Welcome! It's time for another great blog hop! Our September Paper Crafting Blog Hop theme is "Happy Birthday". This hop features a group of talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Who wouldn't love a bunch of flowers for their birthday?

When I think of the end of summer, I always think of sunflowers. So, when the September blog hop theme was birthday, I just knew I had to bring out my JAR OF FLOWERS stamp set, JAR punch and MASON JAR shaker domes. And best of all, I have a friend who is having a birthday party this week. And a hand-delivered card makes a perfect time to use the shaker domes!

Since I wanted the beautiful bunch of flowers to be my focal point, I chose to use a light color of ink (Sahara Sand) to stamp my flower and stem images. Then I just had to use the STAMPIN’ BLENDS alcohol markers because they blend so nicely and make shading so easy---even for beginners!

The LINEN THREAD and green and gold/silver sequins from the SEQUINS FOR EVERY SEASON pack, as well as the coloring of the inside of the shaker dome with a STAMPIN’ BLENDS marker (Pool Party), add great additional touches to make a super special card.

When I was making this card, I knew I wanted to make it look like the jar of flowers was sitting on a table. The IN GOOD TASTE Designer Series Paper has such great textures and is perfect to mimic a table in front of a wall. Take a look at my tip in this grapic and at the close up picture above for the full effect.

As lovely as the JAR OF FLOWERS stamp set is, it doesn’t include sentiments. I used the wonderful IN YOUR WORDS stamp set. This set is an Aug-Sep 2021 Sale-A-Bration limited edition host only set which has many fun greetings including a great “Happy Birthday” stamp!
