Sunrise Sailing Bundle - Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Fun In The Sun

I'm happy to be part of today's Crafty Collaborations Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop with the theme, "Fun in the Sun." I'm sure you it will be so much fun to see the many projects shown in this blog hop! So be sure to "hop" all the way around to see every demonstrator's blog post.

Fun, Sun, and Sailing

I have always wanted to ride on a sailboat, how about you?

Do you also like making cards that have all of the basic elements: background, focal point and sentiment? Do you like it when some of that work is done for you and you just add a few die cuts and minimal stamping?

The FULL OF LIFE Designer Series Paper had a perfect watercolor piece that worked great as a background. And another watercolor piece that was a great color for my round sun cut from the STYLISH SHAPES dies. I added the sailboat and cloud dies from the SUNRISE SAILING Bundle as well as stamping the waves in the water with White Craft ink. Then I added the "hello" sentiment and shape from the WONDERFUL THOUGHTS stamps & dies. Lastly I added one of the large IRIDESCENT FACETED GEMS as an embellishment.

Does my project make you think of having some fun in the sun?

Loveliest Tree Stamps and Dies - Crafty Color Challenge - Blog Hop

Welcome to our Crafty Challenge Blog Hop. What do you think of the colors we were challenged to use this time? The projects are made by demonstrators from around the globe, so be sure to "hop" all the way around to see every demonstrator's blog post. If you have an Instagram account, you can see the Instagram Hop with a few more projects by going to my Stamp With Joy Nelson Instagram profile and looking for the image showing this card.

    From Dining to Sunset

The more I looked at the colors in this challenge photo, the more I thought tree and sunset. And what better reason to bring out one of my favorite stamp sets with coordinating dies?

I especially love the dies! I used the Foam Adhesive Sheets for the leafy part of my tree (applying the foam sheet to the back of the cardstock before die cutting). Since the foam is white, I used a coordinating Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends Marker to color the white edges. I also used it to give my torn "grass" some definition. And I used the Pumpkin Pie and Blueberry Bushel ink pads with Blending Brushes to make a bold sunset background.

I took my que for my card base from the Smoky Slate table cover in the challenge photo. Then I added some Gray twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack. I used Mossy Meadow ink to stamp by "Thank You" sentiment.

I also chose to stamp the tree in Mossy Meadow ink to bring a little outside to the inside of my card.

I really hope you have enjoyed my project for this color challenge. Let's take one last look. Then scroll down below for the list of supplies used. And don't forget to make comments!
