A Die That Creates A Fun Fold---FABULOUS!
Don't you just love it when there is a die that makes things easy? I DO!
The BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES dies have a large butterfly die that sits on the fold of your card base and cuts out a big butterfly shape. How awesome is that?
For my project, I took it to another level by using the debossed side of the SUNFLOWER 3D Embossing Folder on the butterfly die cut. Then sponge daubers and ink (Daffodil Delight, Pecan Pie and Old Olive) were used to color in the sunflower images. Lastly, I ran a Melon Mambo ink pad over the whole embossed image in a direct-to-paper technique to color the background of the butterfly and make the die cut butterfly really "pop" off the card front!
You may also have noticed that the area behind the butterfly is also embossed. For the back half of the card, the BIRCH WOOD 3D Embossing Folder was used.
I also added an additional small die cut butterfly in the Bubble Bath color, and the "hello" sentiment from the BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES Bundle.

Welcome to our Stamping With Friends Technique Blog Hop featuring Floating Hexagon Cards. I am excited to see all of the projects the demonstrators in this blog hop have created. How about you? Be sure to "hop" all the way around to see every demonstrator's blog post! 😊
A Floating Hexagon? It's easier than you think
And I have to admit it was super fun too! Sometimes I am intimidated by fun folds. How about you? But this one came together easily and it was so fun to make that I want to make more---especially since it folds flat and fits in an A2 envelope! (Special thanks to Susan Campfield who adjusted this hexagon design to fit the envelope).
The STORYBOOK MOMENTS Designer Series Paper is so fun with all of the little critters and the springtime motif. It also makes creating projects even easier with 2 pages of punch out images!
Here's the first Floating Half Hexagon Card I made:
And here's the one second one I made because one isn't enough!
How about a view showing the half hexagon shape and a bit of the inside?
